Ecole Sainte-Marie, Building Expansion, Town of Oakville

PEARSON ENGINEERING LTD. was retained for the grading and servicing design drawings and a stormwater management brief for the renovation and new building additions at the Ecole Sainte-Marie school in Oakville. To minimize the negligible impacts due to the increased imperviousness a subsurface soak-away pit was developed to infiltrate the equivalent of the 25mm storm event. The soak-away pit was the approach taken to incorporate stormwater controls into an existing site without major changes to the space and function of the systems.   Based on the addition to the school, a traffic investigation was also requested to analyze the existing conditions to determine if upgrades should also be completed at the time of the renovation. Traffic flows and observations were made and submitted to the Town.
