Intermediate Civil Engineer

Your Opportunity

Your role is responsible for overseeing the production, design, and analysis of a variety of projects involving residential and industrial subdivisions, as well municipal, institutional, commercial works. You will perform duties including, but not limited to, the preparation of proposals, reports, technical specifications, and contracts; participation in project meetings and coordinate with other team members and consultants.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and develop designs for grading, servicing plans, sanitary and SWM systems, etc.
  • Assists in the preparation of contractual documents for project proposals and project completion.
  • Carry out quality assurance and quality control functions to ensure contractual obligations and regulations are being adhered to.
  • Investigate and prepare technical analysis relating to SWM systems, site surveys, traffic control and signage and vehicular controls.
  • Prepare reports relating to zoning by-laws and site plan applications.
  • Prepare SWM servicing calculations as well as, quantity and quality calculations.
  • Fieldwork may be required.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • 3-5+ years’ experience in Civil Engineering field or similar role.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
  • Knowledge of Provincial/Municipal laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of industry standards within construction, Health and Safety codes and regulations.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently collaborate in a team setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or similar field.
  • Registered with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
  • OACETT Designation (C.E.T, C.Tech, A.Sc.T) is an asset.
  • Certified Construction Contract Administrator (CCCA) from a Construction Specification Canada (CS) is considered an asset.
