Co-op Civil Inspector/Surveyor/Technician

Your Opportunity
Your role is to work on tasks and smaller projects, and as a team member of larger projects under the guidance of Senior Site Inspectors. You will perform duties such as monitoring construction, field measurements, GPS Topographic Surveying, maintain daily inspection records and document construction activities. Your work may include some drafting and design duties within the office as assigned. This co-op/internship begins in the spring for 4 or 8 months and has the opportunity for full time employment after graduation.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Assists in inspecting and reviewing projects during construction, monitoring conformance with plans, specifications, and other codes and regulations.
- Assist in monitoring construction activities and work with senior contract administration and senior inspectors in a supporting role.
- Prepare daily inspection reports of construction progress.
- Examines construction materials and review with respect to design specifications.
- Assist senior contract administrators in reviewing construction quantities for use in monthly payment certification.
- Assists with office work such as as-builts, drafting, report and drawing compiling, etc.
Your Capabilities and Credentials

School and perhaps works experience in AutoCAD Civil3D AutoCAD drafting and Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.

Works cooperatively and efficiently within a team setting with independent working skills.

Will be expected to learn industry skills with the ability to assist senior staff to oversee inspection of construction projects and assist design staff in an office setting.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Education and Experience

Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science, Engineering Technologist/Technician program or similar technical program.
