In 2025, Pearson Engineering was engaged by Grey County to complete the detailed design of a new salt and aggregate storage building at the Chatsworth Maintenance Depot. The new structure was constructed with conventional stick framed exterior walls with a 36’-0” ceiling clearance. The cast-in-place foundation walls were extended 12’-0” above grade to retain the interior salt and sand storage. Pre-engineered roof trusses were fabricated to clear span 68’-0” across the open building interior. Exterior and interior shearwalls were designed to provide lateral wind restraint for the building. Custom steel frames were constructed at the loading bay to permit the access and operation of large equipment.
