McLean Taylor, West Grey Bridges N-055/N-056

In 2025, Pearson Engineering was engaged by the Municipality of West Grey to provide structural engineering services for the deck rehabilitation of two existing steel truss bridges, Bridge Structure N-056 and Bridge Structure N-055, as part of a Design-Build tender issued by the Municipality. The scope of the rehabilitations included the removal and replacement of the existing timber decks with new laminated timber deck systems. Structural steel below the deck tops were cleaned and recoated to improve long-term durability. More extensive structural repairs were completed at N-055 due to significant corrosion and deterioration at a localized bearing connection. Prior to construction, permit applications were obtained from the Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority (SVCA).
