Pearson Engineering was engaged by the City of Orillia in 2024 to complete the detailed design and tender document preparation for the permanent removal of the old bridge structure at their Waste Diversion Site. The construction scope of work included the full removal of the bridge superstructure and partial removal of the abutment and pier supports. The roadway approaches and watercourse embankments were regraded and restored utilizing rip-rap protection and hydroseeding. Removal of the bridge superstructure was completed utilizing barge access to avoid impacts to the natural watercourse below.
