In 2025, Pearson Engineering was engaged by the Township of Georgian Bluffs to provide structural engineering services for the rehabilitation of Structure S-0005, located on Sarawak Keppel Townline and currently operating as part of a recreational trail system. Due to the poor condition of the structure, verified through the completion of a structural load evaluation, the bridge was scheduled for temporary closure to all traffic in early 2025. To limit impacts to trail users, the Township prioritized the detailed design and tendering of the bridge rehabilitation. The construction scope included removal and replacement of the existing timber deck and steel beam barrier systems, along with the installation of new traffic signage and pedestrian barricades on the bridge approaches.
